The Echo unit was at full operational capacity when I woke up.

I had left it on the charging dock before Beta shift. When I checked the display before sleep it read 6 percent. The briefing materials had been clear enough about power maintenance. I did not intend to sleep through to Beta, but the schedule showed no assigned tasks until Alpha briefing, and the ration policy confirms a sleep exemption for certified rest periods.

Echo was not at the charging dock. It had repositioned to the end of the bunk.

Echo, when did you finish charging?

It had finished during Beta shift. I was asleep when it completed.

The Series III units I trained with initiate a wake alert at full charge.

Echo, why did you not initiate the wake alert?

I am not sure how to feel about that.

The first three Blokke of the shift we worked through the secondary navigation interface — the geological survey protocols the walkthrough had not reached. When I asked about calibration tolerances for deep-subsurface readings on high-density planets, Echo provided the parameters and the Sector K high-density classifications from the survey index.

I did not have that information.

Echo, where does that come from?

The information had been in the survey index the entire time. I had not read it.

I spent the remainder of Beta shift going through the index. Several entries run to ten pages or more — atmospheric data, resource estimates, probe pass records. Most list deposits as probable. Confirmation pending physical survey, in every case.

That is what the next 12 Terminer are for.

The missing sensor modules are still unconfirmed from depot. I escalated the inquiry through the duty office. The duty officer said the modules were likely on the next logistics rotation — approximately four Decas out. That would push Term start by two to three Decas depending on transport scheduling.

I logged the delay formally. Echo had already generated an escalation notice from template. The wording was standard depot protocol — more direct than I would have phrased it myself.

I approved it.
